Soft hands regime

I do this simple regime on a monthly basis.. but it's great for you to do even fortnightly if you can afford the time.
No complicated ingredients.. just some olive oil and sugar!
You can use this recipe for your feet too!!

In a basin of warm water add about 2 tbsp of olive oil and soak both your hands for about 3mins. While you're at it.. go ahead and massage your cuticles and just relax your hands.

Take a spoonful of coarse sugar with a lil olive oil and put in the palm of one hand and use that to gently scrub both hands by rubbing both hands together and spreading the sugar to the top of your hands as well. Do this for a few mins.

Wash off with lukewarm water and some handsoap. If you have our handmade bars, lavender and peppermint work great! Lavender helps to retain moisture and peppermint will give you a fresh and clean feel which is so relaxing. Your hands will thank you.

Dab off all excess water with a soft hand towel and apply some moisturizing hand lotion or if you don't have hand lotion, any other moisturizer will do as well. It's awesome if you have time to spare and you can wear some cotton gloves after application of the moisturizer as this will lock in the moisture and allow your hands to absorb all of the goodness.

Baby soft hands in no time!

For those who are really busy. You can get our handmade soap bars which have oatmeal, lemongrass or coconut to help exfoliate on a regular basis. As our bars are made with a high content of olive oil and coconut oil, your skin is kept highly moisturized too!

Treat those hands that toil so much for you now! :)

My First Flea Market Experience!

Have been wanting to write about my first ever flea market experience and I have finally found the time... cos I'm sick and stuck at home (so I'm making the best use of it).

Well I have been toying with the idea of setting up a booth at a flea market for sometime.. but I wasn't sure about how people would respond to the booth. Afterall, it is undeniable that only after you have seen and smelt the yummy soap bars, you'll be completely tempted to experience the SOUL bars. So finally this year I decided that I will take the leap and set a booth at the Scape Flea market.

From the time I got the confirmation of a booth I'd been running around like a headless chicken. Gosh. Excitement, anxiety.. list was endless. I just wanted everything to look perfect. Thank God for me I had the support of loved ones who helped in any way they could.. from wrapping my 200 soaps to being with me at the booth the entire day. I was more than grateful.

The flea market went good.. but I did expect a better response. People are still a lil skeptical about soap bars and most have forgotten how to use them even. As for me.. I just love the nostalgia a soap bar brings.. and of course the many benefits that a shower gel will not provide for our skin.

A few tips for first timers who wish to set up a booth at a flea.. be it to sell your second hand goodies or to experience having a brick and mortar store...

1. Have lots of loose change
2. Be well prepared.. have a tablecloth, price tags, pamphlets or namecards so that you can establish a relationship with your customers... and they'd know where to look for you after the flea.
3. work in twos... so that when one of you needs a toilet break, the other can mend the booth
4. Have plastic carriers for your customers' purchases.. not many carry huge bags (like i do :)) and will appreciate having their items put in a bag for them
5. No stress.. be well rested as chances are you'll be on your feet for long hours.. and be well hydrated. with all the crowd that flea markets garner nowadays, it can get real stuffy and hot!
6. Dress comfortably but presentably. Noone would want to buy anything from someone who is unkempt
7. Arrive early so that you have time to setup. If a booth has not been allocated beforehand, it is crucial to go early so that you can pick a booth at a good location. You don't wanna go unnoticed!

those are the few important things that come to my mind now.. i will update more if anything comes to mind.
wooziness from my medication isn't helping!

Have a great long weekend dearies!
